Avalon Archaeology

Hope those who came on Monday to Avalon Archaeology enjoyed it as much as I did - if you couldn't come along, I'd recommend a visit - they only open on Sunday afternoons to the general public. If there is enthusiasm we could arrange another visit in the future.

July's talk will be about the formation of the RNLI 200 years ago this year, how it was felt that Minehead needed a lifeboat in 1900. The physical position of the boathouse etc in the Bristol Channel .How the building and boats have changed with technology over the years to where we are today and the challenges we have. A look at how we go about launching and the process's needed to launch. Many thanks to Lynne Dunton who has organised this for us.
It will be held on Monday 15th at 2pm at Holford Village Hall TA5 1SD. There will be an opportunity for questions and refreshments too.
There will be no limit on numbers at this talk, but if you can let me know if you are coming it will help with chairs and teas. If you can come and help put chairs out and make tea please come along about 1.30/1.45 - that would be lovely!

And in other excellent news, Beverley Heard and Terry Roth are as I type looking over my shoulder and learning the ropes to take on the convening of the group over the next few months - please give them lots of support helping set up the trips, talks and visits that you would like.

Many thanks,
Sarah
